Bayreuth International Summer School
The Bayreuth International Summer School takes place for a duration of two weeks from 30 June until 13 July 2019 and provides an intercultural and dynamic setting reflecting the University of Bayreuth´s focus areas in research.
It consists of several individual courses, each with an interdisciplinary approach. The participants have the opportunity to engage in a rich programme that includes theoretical seminars and discussions as well as practical elements such as lab courses and workshops. The Summer School is jointly hosted by the International Office as well as the Campus Academy, the university’s institute of lifelong learning and corporate education.
Bayreuth is a historically significant, culturally diverse town with well-established networks, offering the perfect setting to meet interesting people from around the world. Scholars and students enrich the classrooms and labs with their own perspectives on the material.
The International Summer School 2019 will give you a better understanding of various aspects of current research areas. At Bard College Berlin, students study humanities and social sciences, work closely with world-class professors, and take advantage of all Berlin has to offer.
Bard College Berlin (BCB) is a nonprofit liberal arts university accredited in Germany and the United States. BCB offers two Bachelor of Arts degrees: one in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought and one in Humanities the Arts, and Social Thought. Within these degrees, students specialize in fields like politics, economics, arts, ethics, or literature, in addition to taking courses in other disciplines that enrich and inform their specializations. Notably, all BCB students participate in the Core Curriculum, comprised of six courses taken over six semesters that examine major movements in intellectual history from Greek antiquity to Modernism. With 270 students from over 60 countries, BCB's campus is highly international. Through ERASMUS, the Bard College network, and bilateral exchange partnerships, students have the option to study abroad in places like the United States, Italy, France, Brazil, Hong Kong, and more. The Civic Engagement program distinguishes Bard College Berlin for its commitment to real-world impact, while the robust Internship program ensures that students gain work experience in Berlin’s vibrant nonprofit, startup, and arts scene. The program: The master offers an interdisciplinary and in-depth study of social protection systems that enables successful candidates to enter positions in international organizations, government administration, welfare associations or civil society organisations. The program targets students who want a career in social policy analysis, advocacy or research. Over the course of 4 semesters students learn to analyse, optimize and, if necessary, reorganize existing social protection systems, adapting them to future demographic, economic and social challenges.
Practical experience: An internship is an integral part of the study program. Students, who have more than 8 months of experience can finish earlier.

The Bonn Graduate School of Economics (BGSE) offers a two-stage graduate program that combines demanding courses with early individual research in a supportive and intellectually demanding environment. Students finish the two-year course phase with a Master’s degree specialized in economic research (M.Sc. Economic Research) and the three-year dissertation phase with a doctoral degree (Ph.D. equivalent).
Outstanding (top 10%) students holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics or related fields (e.g. mathematics, statistics, business administration, accounting, and finance) are encouraged to apply for admission.
All BGSE activities are conducted in English. Grants are available. Students are provided with adequate office space. Our student body benefits from an excellent faculty and numerous collaborative research activities. BGSE alumni have excellent career prospects in academia and beyond.
